In an effort to be more "green" ICS will not be doing a formal mailing of the registration brochure. A copy of the sign-up form will be included in the next issue of The ICS Review. ICS encourages members to register online. There is no cost to register and attendees can earn up to 2 hrs of CE.

Reminders:

  • Contact your legislators and let them know you will be at the Capitol on Thursday, February 11th from 11:00 – 12:00pm. For your convenience, use ICS’ Legislative Contact System http://www.actioniowa.com/ics
  • To look up your legislators and their contact information go to http://www.legis.state.ia.us/aspx/Legislators/LegislatorInfo.aspx
  • Bring several of your business cards
  • Dress professionally, be polite and courteous
  • Consider ride sharing
  • Use the West entrance of the Capitol Building
  • Remember, you will be going through a security check when you enter the Capital Building
  • The Capitol Building and complex are smoke free

Capitol Day Programming
Capitol from 11:00am -12:00pm to meet with Legislators

·         Doctors will receive talking points via email prior to Capitol Day.

·         Will have information handout for legislators along with a nutrition bar and some fruit.

 

Doctors Lunch/Program 12:30-3:30 at Des Moines Club, Ruan Building 666 Grand Ave ., 34th Floor.

·         Lunch will be served from 12:30-1:00pm

·         Program will be 1:30 – 3:30pm

·         Two CE hours will be offered

·         Public health/public policy topic

·         Panelist discussion including

1.    John Stites, DC, Palmer College as moderator

2.    Tom Newton, Iowa Department of Public Health

3.    Kate Walton, Governors Office

4.    Mike Gronstal, Majority Leader, Iowa Senate (tentative depending on session)

 

Free parking will be available at the Iowa Chiropractic Society office to ride share or use the downtown bus system (free).
