Chet Culver signed the Any Willing Chiropractor/Provider for HAWK-I bill into law last week.  As most of you know, this was a challenging legislative session for lawmakers as they grappled with many state financial and budgetary issues and challenges.  However, because of the tenacious grassroots effort of ICS members and our diligent lobbyists, we were able to expose a public health concern in our state.  Through this process, we were able to educate lawmakers on how difficult and often impossible it was for many HAWK-I patients to have access to a chiropractor.  We were also able to communicate that In more than 70 communities across Iowa, a chiropractor is the only point of entry into the health care system .

Over the next few months, we will actively provide counsel and input during "rule making," which will outline how this law will go into effect and how to utilize, etc.  Please stay tuned for further updates.
