The Iowa Chiropractic Society (ICS) has a proud history of successfully pursuing changes at the Iowa legislature to advance access to chiropractic care. Today the stakes are greater than ever, and the ICSPAC needs your support as current health care reform proposals will affect how you deliver care to your patients.
If you recall, ICS fought for and won the inclusion of Doctors of Chiropractic in the definition of primary care provider in Iowa despite heavy opposition in 2008. Quite simply, this would not have been achieved without ICS's extensive legislative relationships. In order to continue winning these important battles, it is critical to elect and re-elect pro-chiropractic advocates in the Iowa legislature, and the ICSPAC committee has set an aggressive fundraising goal of $120,000 by the November 2010 general election.
The ICS Board of Directors has approved an aggressive 2010 legislative agenda that will address:
- Unreasonable Co-Pays

Equal Access to the Hawk-I plan (under Wellmark Blue Access)

Continuous monitoring of health care reform and active public health policy involvement
