Purpose
The ICS Equipment Recycling Service is provided as a benefit of
membership to those in the first five years of their practice to
accomplish two purposes. First, the Equipment Recycling Service
provides members needing equipment with a source of free equipment,
which while not new, is perfectly serviceable. Second, it provides a
mechanism by which doctors having equipment that is not being used,
can put that equipment to good use.
Process
ICS members who wish to participate in the service as either a donor
or as a recipient, may request the appropriate form from the ICS.
The Equipment Recycling Subcommittee of the Doctor to Doctor
Committee will then match those seeking equipment with those wishing
to donate equipment.
Recipients Must:

Be an ICS
member
-
Be in the
first five years of practice
-
Have a need
for the equipment
-
Agree in
writing, to release donor and the ICS of all liability
-
Agree to
accept the equipment as is
-
Provide
transportation and installation of the equipment
-
Agree to
never sell the equipment but to recycle it through the ICS.
Donors Must:

Assure that
the equipment is in working order
-
Agree to
make the equipment available at no cost to the Recipient

Treat all
requests equally
-
Release the
ICS and the recipient of all liability
-
Make
reasonable accommodations to assist the recipient in the
transfer of the equipment.

Report the
transaction to the ICS
A
list of available equipment and a list of the equipment being sought
will be published in the ICS Member’s Section of the ICS Web Site (www.iowadcs.org).
It is not the intention of this service to replace or compete with
classified advertising in the ICS Review or to complete with any
commercial vendor.

Equipment is needed. If you have good, serviceable
equipment that is just sitting around collecting dust, or if you
have been itching to get new equipment but can’t justify what to do
with the good used stuff you already have, go ahead and make that
purchase! Then donate your old equipment to the ICS Equipment
