COURSE CURRICULUM OUTLINE
Title:
Acupuncture, Dry Needling, Visceral Manipulation, and Breathwork for Pelvic Pain
Description:
One of the major reasons patients visit Chiropractic Physicians is for back and pelvic pain. But what are we forgetting when we analyze the lower back and pelvis? Both men and women can suffer from pelvic pain syndromes, from IBD to prostate problems, parturition, or pelvic organ prolapse. This course will help integrate acupuncture and dry needling techniques with abdominal visceral manipulation and breathing techniques as an integral part of pelvic rehabilitation to best support our patients suffering from pelvic pain.
Course Objectives:
- Review the anatomy of the pelvis and the pelvic floor in males and females
- Discuss various medical conditions in men and women that lead to pelvic pain and dysfunction
- Indications & uses of acupuncture, DN, breathwork and visceral manipulation
- Review of the TCM of the pelvis, pelvic pain and pathways leading to dysfunction
- Workshop on breathing techniques with rehabilitation aids for better core and pelvic stabilization
- Practice hands-on techniques and demonstrate acupuncture and DN techniques for neurological facilitation
