COURSE CURRICULUM OUTLINE
Title: Chiropractic Care for Children with ADHD, Tics, Tourette's, and Behavioral Disorders
Description: Dr. Mike Powell will break down what is actually happening in the developing brain when a child presents with ADHD or related attention, behavioral, or learning challenges. You’ll learn how specific neural networks become dysregulated—and more importantly, how they can be changed to improve attention, emotional regulation, school performance, and day‑to‑day interactions at home.
From there, Dr. Powell will show you how to influence these systems directly using practical, clinic‑ready tools. You’ll learn how to apply chiropractic adjustments, sensory‑motor exercises, and nutrition strategies that support healthier brain function and reduce reliance on medication.
This is a fast‑paced, hands‑on, highly interactive training. Every doctor in the room will walk away with clear clinical frameworks and specific methods they can implement right away to help children with ADHD and related disorders.
As part of the ICS's statewide effort to gain insurance parity for all physicians in Iowa (getting paid the same for providing the same service); Dr. Powell will also be sharing a brief presentation.
Title: Clarifying Your Clinical Value: A Framework for Confident, Ethical Fee Decisions
Description:
This presentation guides chiropractors through a structured process for identifying the true value of the services they provide. By examining outcomes, expertise, patient experience, and practice costs, participants gain the insight needed to set fees independently and confidently, ensuring their pricing reflects the quality and impact of their care.

COURSE CURRICULUM OUTLINE
Title: Intrauterine Constraint, Birth Biomechanics, and Newborn Assessment: A
Chiropractic Approach to Infant Conditions
Description: This four-hour continuing education program explores the impact of intrauterine constraint on fetal development, birth biomechanics, and common newborn and infant presentations encountered in chiropractic practice. Participants will examine maternal, fetal, and environmental factors that contribute to constraint during pregnancy and how these influences may affect musculoskeletal development, cranial molding, spinal function, posture, feeding mechanics, and neuromotor development in the newborn.
The course reviews current literature regarding fetal positioning, birth forces, and common infant conditions associated with intrauterine constraint, including torticollis, plagiocephaly, cranial asymmetry, feeding difficulties, postural preferences, developmental asymmetries, and breastfeeding challenges. Attendees will learn age-appropriate history-taking, examination procedures, red flag identification, and chiropractic management considerations while emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration and patient-centered care.
Additional pregnancy-focused content and learning objectives will be incorporated into the expanded four-hour program.
